AEO daily checklist

Our working checklist for AEO. Pick your name, open your tab, tick as you go and add a link to what you did. Click Open on any step for how to do it and how long it takes. Steps that need Austin, Bobby or the Hypertune reviewer sit with Vin to follow up.

How to do each step: https://hypertune-reports.pages.dev/aeo-strategy-2026-10-18-c4e1a9 · Content route: Som or Hoa drafts · Vin checks · reviewer feedback · 30-minute call · revision · re-check · Austin signs off.
Why we do AEO this way (read this first; every step below also says why)
  1. AI answers are built from sources. ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Google's AI read pages and repeat what most sources agree on, often citing them. So the work is on the sources, not on the AI itself.
  2. Measure first. We track the same 25 buyer questions every week on six engines. That gives a baseline, and shows which of our changes move the answers.
  3. One set of facts. If our site, listings and press disagree on price, partners or what Hypertune changes, AI hedges or picks the wrong one. The facts page is the single truth everything else matches.
  4. Make pages easy to quote. AI lifts passages, not pages: a direct answer in the first 40 to 60 words, tables, dated numbers and a named author. That is what the nine answer rules are for.
  5. Get named where AI looks. AI cites Reddit, YouTube, review sites, Wikipedia and roundups more than brand sites. The citation map tells us which ones to work on first.
  6. Fix wrong answers at the source. A wrong answer traces back to one page or listing. Fixing that changes the answer; arguing with the AI does not.
  7. Test tools before buying them. Each paid tool runs one month beside the manual way, timed. We keep only what saves time, and the tips that hold up go into the rules.
