Hypertune email design brief

Design brief for the email design team · 26 September 2026

From Vinson · 26 September 2026 · for the email design team

Every Hypertune email is being rebuilt. The words are written. Your job is the look: three reusable Klaviyo templates, then each email below built from them. The goal is conversions: short, clear, and the one button impossible to miss on a phone.

Build from scratch. The current Klaviyo templates, the Figma email designs (V1 and V2) and the old template flows are all flawed. Treat them as reference only: take an idea if it's genuinely good, otherwise ignore them. Carry across the Hypertune logo and brand colours, nothing else.

The full words for every email are linked under each flow in the email plan.

Three layouts

1. Action email · sign-up, trial, abandoned checkout, after purchase, win-back. Top to bottom:

  1. Small Hypertune wordmark.
  2. Headline, 3 to 7 words, large, live text. It says the one thing the email wants.
  3. One visual that shows the product doing the job of this email: an app screenshot or a simple graphic, about 600 by 320. It links to the button's destination. Alt text repeats the headline.
  4. Body copy, 2 to 4 short lines.
  5. Button, brand green, full width on a phone, in the first screen on mobile.
  6. Trust row: three small icons with two or three words each: "One-click undo" · "Tuned to your PC" · "No lock-in".
  7. Sign-off: a small round photo of Austin, then "Austin, Hypertune". Austin approves the photo.
  8. Footer.

2. Account notice · failed payment, trial ending, renewal. No product imagery; it should read like a bank or app notice.

  1. Wordmark.
  2. Status chip: a coloured label at the top. Amber for a payment problem, blue for a reminder.
  3. Headline.
  4. Facts panel: a light box with two or three lines (plan, amount, date), filled automatically.
  5. One or two lines of body.
  6. Button.
  7. A small line: "Questions? Reply to this email."

3. Plain note · cancel emails and the Trustpilot request. It looks like Austin typed it: no image, no chip, no trust row, a text-style button or a bold link. After someone cancels, a designed email reads like marketing; a plain one reads like a person.

Split tests: make two versions

  1. Win-back and trial cancelled, all three emails: version A in the short action layout, version B as a plain note. Same words, same button. Half the audience gets each.
  2. Trial started email 1: action layout against a plain note, same words and button.

The winner, judged on clicks and payments, becomes the default look for the rest.

Rules

  1. Images off test. Every email must still make sense and show the button with images turned off. Words are never inside an image.
  2. One visual per email, and it shows the product. No stock gaming photos, no creator photo strips, no pro player names, no follower counts, no performance numbers or FPS claims in any image.
  3. The phone's first screen shows the headline, the visual and the button without scrolling.
  4. Screenshots come from the current app. Kamil supplies them; don't mock up screens that don't exist.
  5. 600 px wide. Button at least 44 px tall. Checked in dark mode.
  6. No social icon row. The footer holds, in small text: "Austin from Hypertune", support, "Manage your plan", unsubscribe and the address.
  7. Headlines, prices, dates and codes are live text, so they can be filled automatically.

What to deliver

  1. The three layouts as reusable Klaviyo templates with editable live-text blocks.
  2. Desktop and mobile mockups of trial started email 1, failed payment email 1 and the "too expensive" email, for Austin to approve first.
  3. Then every email in the table, plus the B versions for the split tests.

From others: app screenshots from Kamil; Austin approves his sign-off photo. Questions go to Vinson.
